The conversation I keep having: While dating apps are good, if you are having zero success, go outside.
Meeting people in real life can be a necessary step to finding a good dating partner. You might not always meet someone open to date in the first few attempts, but being on friendly terms with more people increases the chances that they can introduce you to their friends.
If you struggle with social anxiety, then it will be important for you to become comfortable in any of these environments before you try introducing yourself. Multiple visits to the same location can help you feel more at ease.
What I have seen work:
Local Library community events
Parks and Recreation events
In person volunteer opportunities
Going to the gym around the same time every few days
Pilates and Yoga classes
Amateur Sports
Art or Cooking Classes
Eating dinner at the same restaurant with bar seating
The small groups communities within large churches
If any of these seem like things you would like to do, and can't seem to make yourself do it, let's get on a call and make a plan more specific to you. Book Therapy Session
